Elgar: Sospiri

Prior to the start of World War I, Edward Elgar wrote Sospiri (Op. 70) for string orchestra with harp and organ. The work was originally intended as a companion piece to Elgar's Salut d'Amour (Op. 12), but was later revised to Sospiri (sighs) as Elgar determined the work to be more intense than he originally intended. This version is a redecution for violin, viola, or cello with piano.
